Chicago The Windy City

One of my favorite places to visit is Chicago ( The Windy City). The city itself is so breathtaking, especially the night Skyline. I love the reflection of the skyline in the water. It is marvelous. We went to the waterside restaurants and bars and enjoyed the city’s nightlife. We watched the boats go by, we saw an amazing wedding celebration passing by as we sipped our wine and enjoyed every breath we took. I loved sitting back and taking in the blessing of being a part of beautiful Chicago. We went in October 2022 and the weather was perfect. We started each day off with layered clothing, that could easily be taken off and tied around our waist or tucked away since we didn’t like to go back to the hotel. We packed a bag with water and snacks and off on our journey we would go. We traveled about 10 miles a day on foot. With a well-planned day we covered as much of the Windy City as we could.

Sky Deck View
Sky Deck

The Chicago Sky Deck was one of my favorite nighttime views. We stepped out on the Ledge an all-glass extension of the Sky Deck Tower. OMG, I was so nervous but it was such a rush of excitement to look out and see such an amazing view. Daniel even laid down on the ledge, and he was scared! Wow, when you look out at this enormous marvelous city, you just can’t stop looking at it. I loved all the hot pink and purple lights! Hot pink is my favorite color. We even FaceTimed our kids so they could experience this beautiful moment with us.

Daniel is so brave to actually lay down on the glass Ledge of Sky Deck!

Chicago City Pass. We purchased the Chicago City Pass, it was a great deal and we got to choose 3 attractions. We got a few extra perks and saved some money. We will do it next time we come as well. We chose the Field Museum, Art Institute of Chicago, and Shedd Aquarium and we purchased the Sky Deck Tickets.

Field Museum

The Field Museum takes a few hours to see the nearly 40 million artifacts. You will find clues to what life was like hundreds, thousands, and millions of years ago. Here you will find new evidence of just how interconnected our world is.

Science is just plain fun and Science is for everyone. We can’t wait to visit again soon!

The Art Institute of Chicago

The Art Institute of Chicago is one of the world’s major museums. It takes a few hours to see the extraordinary collection of objects from different places, cultures, and times. Such a cool huge museum.

Shedd Aquarium

The Shedd Aquarium has whales, bluegills, rockhopper penguins and rockfish, alligators and an alligator snapping turtle, and so many beautiful, colorful fish and so much more for you to explore. We had a great time here.

The Cloud Gate (The Bean)

Cloud Gate, aka The Bean, is one of Chicago’s most popular attractions. Located in downtown Millenium Park. It is a huge mirrored bean shape sculpture. We got our selfie with The Bean!

Webber Grill

Webber Grill is fine for Dining for sure. We are spoiled, we ordered the Filet Mignon cooked medium rare, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and green beans. and we ordered Pomegranate Moskow Mules. 100 all the way around! We will be back for sure!

We can’t wait to visit Chicago again soon!! Until next time Windy City!
