Staying in the Present

Self Care First

Staying in the Present moment is hard! It’s hard because life beats you up sometimes. Most people have one foot in yesterday regretting their past and one foot in tomorrow worrying over something that hasn’t even happened yet.

Take Time For You

A well-balanced life is important if you want to live your best life. Work a little play a little. Personally, my best life is: being my best, I always like to look good, and I love coffee in the morning, and hot teas all day. I love good meals, I love to cook, and I love origination. I love to work out for at least 30 minutes a day so I can look my best. It is harder for me to diet because I love good food, so I try to work out daily.

Me Time

I need so much me time per day, how can I take care of everybody and everything if I am not taken care of? Remember this HALT- I am not my best when I am HUNGRY, ANGRY, LONELY, TIRED. If I am ever mad, grumpy, or irritated. I take a step back and evaluate myself. I ask myself what is wrong with me? How am I feeling? I identify the problem and quickly figure out a boundary to solve this problem. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff, do not let anyone steal your joy. I pray for guidance, discernment, and wisdom. Ask and you shall receive. This is our 1 and only life, you don’t get a redo. You get 1, so live every day to the full.

Stick to a Schedule

When I can make an ideal day on a schedule I am much more productive. now sometimes your schedule can get interrupted by life. When that happens, identify the problem and set a boundary, and get back to the schedule.

Stay in the Present

If something upsets you or you feel an emotion other than happiness, ground yourself. How to come back to the present moment, breathing and focusing on your environment. Say something to yourself like” what are 5 things I can hear right now, or 5 yellow objects in the room? You are making yourself come back to the present moment. You are retraining your brain to come back to the present. To live your best life stay in the present, it will be the past soon enough. Then a vicious cycle starts all over again. Guilt, shame, remorse, and regret, are all necessary to change us, to make us better. Admitting fault, Step 1 to a healthier life. You can only change what you identify to be a problem or a need for change.

Step 1

Admitting your fault and realizing that your life is unmanageable. Write down your wants, desires, and needs, identify things you want to change. Figure out how to set boundaries and live your best life. There is no time like the present time.

11 more steps to a NEW YOU!

I will write about the next step to a new you called FAITH. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.” So admitting we can’t, but knowing that HE can! God can. And then more blogs to come on the next steps to a new you!
